Stride Serves
At Stride, community matters.
In support of our commitment to the message “We Stand Together,” the Stride Serves Volunteer Initiative empowers our employees to strengthen relationships and give back to local communities through specific acts of service while building unity across the Stride Family.
Mission Statement:
Stride Serves empowers Stride employees to engage with colleagues across teams to give back to local communities and strengthen community relationships through specific acts of impactful service and volunteerism focused on building an inclusive, diverse, and compassionate workplace and community at large.
Stride is committed to being a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we extend this commitment through our Stride Serves Program.
Stride employees can participate by volunteering in these four care areas:
Children and Youth Services
Volunteers might work with kids at an after-school program or hospital; organize sports and other extracurricular activities for community youth; or help prepare young people for an economically viable future through coaching, interview prep, etc.
Community Development and Outreach
This broad category includes community-based advocacy, including public health education; environmental projects such as picking up trash or planting and tending to gardens; supporting social justice associations; and hosting workshops on everything from civil rights to home finances.
Education
Educational programs can be extended to children, youth, and adults, including lending a hand at a local elementary school; tutoring teens who need extra support at an after-school program; providing vocational training to teens and adults; or teaching English to adults.
Health and Wellness
Volunteers don’t necessarily need to be a medical professional to support the health and wellbeing of their community. Opportunities for volunteers include helping at local food banks or shelters; first-aid or fitness training; or volunteering at a community health clinic or public hospital by organizing workshops or providing translation skills.
Want to participate but don't know how to start?
Stride has also partnered with Year Up to provide volunteer opportunities to our employees that support their mission. Year Up empowers young people to gain the skills and experiences they need to be successful in meaningful careers. Students learn technical and professional skills and also complete a corporate internship as part of the program.
