Josh understands science better than most 13-year-olds. He won first place at the D.C. STEM Fair in back-to-back years. And he says online learning has helped him: "I'm able to move at a faster pace than what I was at brick-and-mortar school." But STEM isn't his sole passion. "Lots of people think that I want to be an environmental scientist. That's not my passion. I want to be a child psychologist. I just find that working with children, it just feels good. It feels like I'm doing something good for the world."

Diagnosed with Asperger syndrome at a young age, Tim struggled in traditional brick-and-mortar school. "He was coming home very upset. He wasn't doing work. He was avoiding things," said Tim's father. It was time for a new approach. "[Insight School] has probably been the single major factor in helping Tim find his place over the past few years. At this point, he's controlling his own destiny." Tim graduated high school with straight A's and has college, technical training, and a job as options.

"I was successful in the Army for 13 years and I am thankful for the opportunity to serve my country. But I realized that I wanted to do more. Every day at [Stride's Galvanize program] was new, different, challenging, and exciting! The experience really taught me that I could learn and create anything. As the first woman to graduate from the program, I can hope to inspire other women, military spouses, veterans, and minorities to come into the tech space and also be successful."

"The job search after Hack Reactor was as transformative as the bootcamp itself. I learned to experiment quickly, and embrace and reflect on failure in new ways. It wasn't easy, but I was thrilled to see my early failures grow into later successes, including offers from top Silicon Valley companies like Google, Lyft, Yelp, and several hot startups. The final compensation was breathtaking; the learning invaluable."
